- Sandrine Carole
Born in France. I live in Portugal. I am a photographer and graphic designer. I’m a lover of expression, connection and growth. My main source of inspiration is fashion, female body and nature.
Since 2003 I have worked as a communication designer for several agencies, developing skills in the areas of branding, editorial design and webdesign. In 2012 started working as freelancer photographer at Farfetch, a pioneer in the fashion e-commerce area in Portugal. In 2014 I joined Sonae Fashion’s new e-commerce team, where I had the challenge to create the company’s first in-house photo studio. Since then, not only as a photographer, but also as a coordinator and team manager, I have been responsible of the entire production process and images creation for the online stores ZIPPY and MO. From this path I became a specialist in e-commerce photography.
As a creative, I also have my own projects, like working self-portrait and nude. Here I observe my naked self while experiencing self-knowledge through photography. I am passionate about the mystery that is associated with self-knowledge and self- acceptance. Simplicity, elegance and sensuality. These are words that inspire me and are closely related to my creative imagination.
THE BEST version OF myself
My main purpose is to try to be the best version of myself. To know my inner self, understand my roots and be able to respect my time e the constant changes that comes with this evolution.
WHY NAKED SELF-PORTRAIT? My art is an extension of my existential inquiries. I understand that a naked body is a bold way to expose yourself. A clothed body is packed with a variety of references, purged of all distractions and its nakedness is objective and immediate. It is expression and emotion. The experience of exposing and observing oneself captivates me, without filters, without taboos, without fears.
